If you’re looking for a romantic proposal spot in DFW, Mandalay Canal Walk is such a dreamy option! Rocky and Elisabeth’s proposal is the perfect example. The canal feels like a little European escape right in Las Colinas, and this spot already held such a special place in their relationship. It’s where they first said “I love you,” so Rocky bringing Elisabeth back here to propose made everything feel full circle.

Sweet Details That Made the Surprise Even Better
There’s nothing I love more than when a proposal has heartfelt details throughout! Rocky’s friends and family made the beautiful bouquets lining the staircase where he proposed. They spent so much time and effort making this moment special for Elisabeth, and the flowers, vases, and candles made the whole setup feel colorful and elegant.
Their friends and family were also waiting nearby after the proposal to give them the biggest hugs!
Rocky also brought a custom lock engraved with their names and proposal date. This is such a fun addition to a proposal at Mandalay Canal Walk! They attached it to the Love Lock Bridge, so now every time they come back, they’ll have a little reminder from this day.
Dreamy Mandalay Canal Engagement Photos
After the big surprise and all the family hugs, we had the best time taking engagement photos around the canal. There are so many gorgeous photo spots within walking distance, from the water and bridges to the pathways and European-inspired architecture.
That’s one of my favorite things about this location! You can have the proposal and take a full set of engagement photos afterward without having to go anywhere else. I’d honestly love to come back here for more proposals AND engagement sessions!
