I’m Abby — a Dallas, TX Wedding & Lifestyle photographer serving those in the DFW Metroplex and beyond. I'm a 24 year-old true Texas girl, married to my best friend since 2021 (hi, Nick!), and dog person turned cat mom.
To put it simply, Abby Herron Photography is the fruit and evidence of God’s grace that was cultivated during an extremely hard (and what felt like directionless) season of my life. I once told myself I would NEVER photograph weddings or couples because that was way too scary… funny how that worked out, huh? I shot my very first wedding in 2018 for my cousin, but it wasn't until 2022 that photography would begin to play a big role in my life.

Hi there — I'm Abby Herron!
Looking back, it seems as though I’ve always dabbled in photography, even as a kid. I guess I’ve always seemed to love taking pictures, I just didn’t realize it’s something I could make a career out of.
In 2022, I hit a really low, desultory place in life. I had a full time job, but no longer saw a future there. I needed to make a change, I just had no idea what that was supposed to look like. I started to pray and ask God for a new direction and what on earth it is that I’m supposed to do with myself, or more so, what it is He would like me to do. Lo and behold, in the spring of 2022, I got a text from some friends asking if I could take some last-minute pictures of their pregnancy announcement. It was after that session where my perspective of photography, myself, and how those two things intertwined completely changed.
Fast forward to today, I’m now serving people through photography full time, and I couldn’t be more grateful. There are often times I will be going about my day, and I suddenly get overwhelmed at the thought of how truly incredible my job is because...
You can’t convince me that photographing a man proposing to his best friend, capturing the moment two people commit themselves to one another forever, documenting a grandma cry happy tears at her grandchild’s wedding, and getting to be the first one to know about someone’s pregnancy isn’t the absolute best job in the whole world.
How I ended up here with you...
Photography allows me to serve and love people in such a special way. It's one of the few things that gets me up before the sun and keeps me up into the late hours of the night, bringing me immense joy through and through.

I'm an extrovert at heart and absolutely love meeting new people, who very quickly turn into new friends! It's always such a joy to meet every client for the first time and get to know your story inside and out, then bring your vision to life.

I have so many childhood memories of sitting on the big, brown leather couch in my parents' living room and looking through my baby pictures and old family photos. Now I get to give people that same gift of capturing their memories to one day look back on.

Why I do what I do:
A Bible verse that has been close to my heart over the years is Proverbs 16:9 “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Also, “do it scared” has been more of a successful motivator over the recent years than I ever would have expected!
What motivates me
I like to think I have a broad spectrum of music that I listen to. If you were to hit “shuffle” on my Spotify account, you’d probably hear songs from artists like Cody Johnson, Taylor Swift, The Worship Initiative, and a mix of classical, instrumental covers.
On my playlist
I’ve always been told I have an old soul. That’s probably why you can find me in an antique store when I’m not working. And I have a slight obsession with ducks — specifically white pekin ducks. I may or may not have a bunch of antique duck decor scattered around my house.
About the ducks...
My go-to order is a hot London Fog with extra vanilla, or an iced green tea with lemonade. It's also essential and routine for me to have Chick-Fil-A before every wedding I shoot. No joke. Unless it’s a Sunday, then I have to find a substitution.
