Growing up, I've always seemed to be a people watcher. There's just something so interesting–perhaps, beautiful–about watching human interaction. Sometimes, I feel like wedding days are as simple as spending a whole day people watching.
Like watching the way the groom looks at his bride walking down the aisle in the moments leading up to becoming husband and wife. Or watching the way a mom admires her daughter as she's buttoning up her wedding dress. I never imagined that the simple act of noticing and watching could bloom into something as beautiful as documenting wedding days, and I couldn't be more grateful that it did!
One day I was driving in the car when suddenly a song came on, and I felt like the chorus of the song perfectly sums up how I feel about being a photographer.
There's a song by Mission House titled "I Don't Have Much" and in the chorus it says
"I don't have much, but I have a heart that beats for You" and, to me, those words have two meanings.
The first meaning behind those words represents my relationship with the Lord. God has blessed and given me everything that I have today, my business and artistry included. There's nothing I can do for Him that will ever compare to the grace and love He's so freely given me, but my heart beats for Him and His people.
Speaking of His people, that leads me to the second meaning of those lyrics: You. The heartbeat behind photography and what I do is you. Nothing lights me up more than getting to serve you and your closest loved ones on one of the biggest days that launches the rest of your life! While the world is filled with opportunities, I easily think photography is one of the best jobs in the world because...
Photography allows me to serve and love people in such a special way. It's one of the few things that gets me up before the sun and keeps me up into the late hours of the night. I truly couldn't ask for anything better!

I'm an extrovert at heart and absolutely love meeting new people, who very quickly turn into new friends! It's always so exciting to meet every client for the first time and get to know their story and bring it to life!

I have so many childhood memories of sitting on the big, brown leather couch in my parents' living room and looking through my old baby pictures and family photos. Now I get to give people that same gift of capturing their memories to one day look back on.

The thought of knowing that I get to wake up everyday and do what I truly love and call it a job is one of the most motivating and humbling experiences. I wake up everyday so incredibly humbled and grateful that couples continue to trust me to do what I love by capturing their love.

I like to think I have a broad spectrum of music that I listen to. If you were to hit “shuffle” on my Spotify account, you’d probably hear songs from artists like Cody Johnson, CCM, Taylor Swift, and a mix of classical covers.

I’ve always been told I have an old soul. That’s probably why you can find me in an antique store when I’m not working. And I have a slight obsession with ducks — specifically white pekin ducks. I may or may not have a bunch of antique duck decor scattered around my house.

My go-to order is a hot London Fog with extra vanilla, or an iced green tea with lemonade. It's also essential and routine for me to have Chick-Fil-A before every wedding I shoot. No joke. Unless it’s a Sunday, then I have to find a substitution.
