Fall Family Pictures Turned Surprise Proposal at Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park

On the most beautiful November day at Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park in Mansfield, TX, Chris and Halle’s surprise proposal was filled with radiant joy and endless excitement. I’ll never forget the pure shock on Halle’s face and the deep love they have for one another. It was one of those moments where you wish you could freeze time and experience it all over again, which is my goal for every couple I photograph—that they’ll be able to relive the best moments of their life time and time again.

Intimate Details Behind the Surprise Proposal

I worked with Chris to plan the most perfect surprise proposal for his love, making this proposal near to my heart. Chris had the idea of telling Halle that they were taking fall family pictures with their adorable pup (which is a brilliant way to have a photographer capture every intimate moment without ruining the surprise!). He proposed a few minutes into the photoshoot, giving us plenty of time to take true engagement photos. Halle had the sweetest reaction, and these photos are a great reflection of all the authentic emotion that took place. 

Why Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park is a Dreamy Proposal Spot

Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park is such a dreamy location for a surprise proposal in DFW. Chris and I met up a couple of weeks before the photoshoot to scout out the perfect spot for him to pop the question. Although you can’t go wrong with any of the areas at the park, we chose a spot surrounded by large, mature trees with changing leaves that gleamed in the sunlight, giving us the whimsical element we were looking for. And golden hour did not disappoint with the warm, glowy lighting I adore the most.
