A Picture-Perfect Proposal at Highland Park in Dallas Texas

There’s something so special about capturing the exact moment two lives change forever. Proposals are always filled with so much raw emotion—nerves, excitement, and pure joy—and Amos and Julia’s was no exception. From the very first conversation with Amos and his sister, Olivia, I could tell how much thought and care went into planning this moment for Julia. Every detail was intentional, from choosing the perfect spot at Highland Park in Dallas Texas to ensuring everything went off without a hitch. It was an honor to be part of such a meaningful day. I couldn’t wait to document the beginning of their next chapter together!

Planning the Perfect Surprise Proposal

Amos and Julia were an absolute joy to work with. Amos and his sister, Olivia, reached out to me a couple of weeks before Amos was planning on proposing. I was extremely excited and grateful I was available because October is right in the middle of busy season, at least for North Texas photographers. Amos and Olivia connected with me on a zoom call where we got to “meet” each other. I got to hear all about his plans for the proposal. Later that week, they went to scope out the location in person and decide on the specific spot where he planned to propose.

Making Sure Everything Was Just Right

On the day of the proposal, I made sure to show up early, like I do for every proposal. In addition to scoping out the spot and getting acquainted with the surroundings, I made sure to give myself plenty of time to get my gear ready. There were probably dozens of other photographers and clients at Lakeside Park that evening of their engagement. While some families came and went leading up to the time of the proposal, luckily their spot was perfectly clear and empty upon them arriving!

The Moment Amos Popped the Question

Julia was so surprised and absolutely glowing as Amos proposed to her! After giving them a few moments to take everything in and celebrate the joyous occasion, we took some photos of the newly engaged couple. I’m so thankful for Amos for trusting me to capture such a significant event! He and Julia are such a beautiful couple. I am so excited for all that life had in store for the two of them!
